How many times have you heard soneone say, "Why can't we get a guy like Michael Jordan or Bill Gates, or or some other mega money earner to give money to Pool"?

Here you have Kevin Trudeau doing just that and all people can do is criticize him.

In Real Estate they have coined a name for when agents out and out lie about their property - it is called Puffing. Or the TV ads are called "happy talk" where you see someone with a mouthfull of shiny white teeth saying "no money down" or lately, "enhancement". Are they all crooks? Or are they just using a tried and tested method of advertising?

Perhaps, just maybe, Kevin Trudeau has decided to start a new venture in the pool world where he can commit money to pool that if he didn't spend in this way he would have to give to Uncle Sam.

Well, step one is completed and I believe that Mike and Lori are happy with the outcome. As far as I know no one got stiffed. The show was a success. And plans are set for step two in Orlando come November.

I suspect the pros will be running to the post office today with their application forms. And all the while thinking, "Damn, this guy is for real - Mike got 125K and Lori got 75K working a few hours and I can't even make a couple K in a 4 day tournament."

I say back Kevin and spread the word. It seems to be the best chance for the pros to come along in a long time.

That is the hardest task of all and requires time and a sequence of events to materialize. Imagine you're a sports person deciding on what stories to report. Would you risk reporting this match as news? Or would you see it as a "stunt" in a game of questionable characters? Or would you even care one way or the other? Once this format is proven* then the info will be reported by the normal media.

It's kinda like saying, "Geez, you broke the balls but the 8-ball is still on the table...what kind of winning shot was that?" Let's see if Kevin can "run the table."

* Just look at how interested pool players here aren't accepting this as legit, yet...outsiders will take even longer to recognizing this as a real story, imho.

That wasn't an official press release, or photo of the event.

There should have at least been an official press release. It looks all the commotion surrounding this event has fizzed out already.
 
The home page story was written by "AZB staff" which I take to mean Mike. Since he was there I wonder why he doesn't get on here and tell us what he found out. Surely he interviewed Kevin Trudeau.

Another AZB'er was there buy unfortunately he can't tell us about the show since he has been banned from the forum.

You sendum to school and all they want to do, etc......... I think this is going to be the greatest thing to ever happen for pool. And,,,,,if it totally fails,,,,,,,,,,,,,the worse thing that can happen is we are back to the same sad state that pool is in now.

Shut up the crying and get behind KT and the IPT. He is the ONLY person in history to step up to the plate with his own hard cash. He has all of my respect for even making the effort.

I agree Jake. Sometimes we get to negative about billiards which is in itself hurts billiards. The lack of recognition in this sport has caused many to become doubtful. He is something that seems too good to be true. I for one am very positive about this and see at as an opportunity for billiards. I also believe that many that are negative now would later be very happy if this whole thing worked out. I think it will. Was it Jim Rempe that put out a video entitled "No Time for Negatives"? I think it's time we move forward and even if this does not work out, I believe others will jump in after seeing the positive we promote.

I felt the same way, I was so hoping to see a news report on ESPN, but to be honest, it's going to take a lot of work to get this sport to where it should be, and the networks, ESPN etc.. can care less right now.

The more I thought about it, why would you push real hard to get this in the news right now with some blip or blurb of the results when you plan to televise the event in a month? So maybe he is smarter then I even thought because I would have pushed real hard to get a mention on some news outlet, but that may be waste right now, The real publicity will be the TV event and most likely and more importantly the tour start in December.

The olny way ESPN would have even mentioned it is if, in their view, it was news. Which means, LORI WINS!!!!!. We virtually all knew that was not a possibility and it seems that ESPN also knew.

I do not disagree with anything about the way or not the way it was reported but did you know that espn2 had both Mike and Lori on Cold Pizza last week and they talked in length about the new ipt and the upcoming show and then they were on again after the match. The 3 hosts of the show loved the pool aspect. So someone at espn cares a little, wouldn't you say?
