I have several cues to replace the Irish Linen wraps. Which color will work well with most cues? What brand would be best to purchase? Which press to purchase? What else will i need?
Thanks CB

If you have never done it you probably will need 10 pounds of linen to practice with.

Solid black, black with white spec, brown with black spec, brown with white spec are some colors that will take you thru most cues.
You can buy linen presses from Brianna here on the forum, billiardbum here on the forum, and atlas billiards.
If you can , 2 oak or hard maple boards put together at the top work really well for this and polishing as well.
You can also buy your linen you need in single spools , enough for 1 cue , from atlas billiards and prathers.
Hope this helps ,

Thanks Jim

I've got 32 colors on hand and I would say that I use black with white spec probably 8 or 10 to 1 of all the other wrap colors put together. Old school cues usually get white with green as that was what originally was on most. Although I've got on hand but have never used is purple and white, brown with black spec, red with white and seldom white with red. The white with red looks pink once installed and looks pretty good on a girls cue especially if it has some pink ivory in the cue and if they keep their hands clean of chalk while using it.

I use black and green with Malachite, black and blue with turquoise and burgundy wine and white on purple heart cues. White and single or double brown look good with lighter cues especially if Amboyna burl has been used.
