Is it possible to do this? I had a guy tell me years ago that it make the cloth alot more slick, sort of gives it that new cloth feel - or as best as you could get that new cloth feel out of used cloth.

I posted this in the mechanic section and got no response - none - so I thought I'd post on the main forum.

I seen ur post their.... I figured someone would reply...

You can iron pool cloth but ironing is more known in snooker with the nap cloth, ironing cloth is not going to " restore " the cloth to new....
Don't iron the cloth on the bed of the slate if beeswax was used in the seams of a 3pc slate or you'll have wax wicked up in to the cloth...

The temperatures required to get any results, will melt the nylon woven into the cloth. The higher the nylon content, the worse it will be. I ruined the ol ladies iron when I tried it. The nylon melted and stuck to the iron. I didn't have Simonis, but I still don't recommend trying it.

Edit....ill tell the whole story. My beeswax job was raising up and I tried to warm it up and flatten it. Pretty stupid to try it but I didn't want to take the cloth off again.

Yeah..um...don't iron your cloth.
No real benefit with 860.
If you have a horse blanket its a little different story but no don't do that.
A light brushing and vacuum is all u need.
Why there is two u's in vacuum is beyond me.

Also, if your slates are joined with beeswax, you might melt it and wick it into the cloth.
