thought i would post a seperate thread here, hoping to get more responses. talked with Jacoby today, said they could have the cue made in 3-4 weeks. on their website its under the B Series, serial #JCC-88.

should i be concerned about something that fast?
their man said they already had Blanks for that cue made, or something along those lines.

thanks,
and forgive me for posting this again.

If this is the cue you're looking for, and they can make it in 3-4 weeks, then I'd say to go for it? What's the concern? That you're not buying it off the shelf? Or that you expect to wait longer for a cue?

Aren't you the one who called simonis and then didn't believe what they told you? I.E. "No, that can't be the right color..." Why do you bother to call these places and ask for what you want when if they tell you they can get exactly what you want in a given amount of time you refuse to believe them? You sound like the world's worst customer. Lighten up. If you want the rod get it.

It sounds to me like this cue is a specific "model" type cue that is a good seller. In this case it makes sense that if they want to have a higher production rate that they would make the blanks ahead of time and just put them together when ordered. For that matter, with CNC type cues I would imagine that there is a lot less construction time in general than with spliced cues.

Hi, I just got my custom jacoby cue but it wasnt one of their designs it was my design and it took about 14 weeks but I suppose since they already know exactly how to do those models they take less time.

jacoby is a "production" cue company. therefore they stock parts before orders are placed for cues so they can be built quicker and they make more money. they will make custom cues but only if asked pretty much. that timeline sounds about right for a cue of their design. I'm sure they would make you wait longer to make you feel better if you ask them to. lol just buy the cue if you want it. Jacoby won't make something that'll warp in a week. they make nice cues and I'm sure they would like to keep it that way. they have been around long enough to know what they are doing.

I will guarantee you that the "blanks" for their standard butts have gone through the requisite time period normally associated with purchasing a custom one-of-a-kind cue. They just happened to start years before you ordered.

The Jacobys have a reputation in the industry for selecting and upkeeping some of the finest materials. So that shouldn't be an issue. The February 2004 Issue of InsidePOOL Magazine had an article on Jacoby Cues. IIRC.

Im with everyone else on this, if they said 3-4weeks it meens that there going to put together and finish it, which would take about that long. When I had them make mine it took almost 3 weeks once it was cut to finish and wrap. Don't sweat it you will have a nice cue at a good price.

I have a custom-made Jacoby and couldn't be happier with it. They are a good company with a reputable name. You are in good hands, rest assured.

Go for it, DCP. Jacoby makes great cues. May you know nothing but success with it.
