Is Earl a good choice for the Mosconi Cup?

For whatever reason, mosconi events are the loudest I've ever seen. Always filled with high energy, cheering, and emotion. Do we need earl for that? Hell yeah!

Consider the fact that we are underdogs in this match, we need an upset. That makes me want Earl even more. The euros may dislike him more than any other US player. Risky, but that is a chance we will have to take. Earls game, high energy, and entertainment value: Too much to pass up.

Daz and Melling told me at last Vegas M Cup that the Brits in general like Earl more than any other US player. Many of them grew up watching Earl play.

Streams will exist as they did for recent World Cup of Pool. Matchrooms streams of this event, I believe, are not intended for the US Market. Earl is going to generate more buzz than would Rodney, Hatch or Corey. All 3 are worthy, very worthy. If you concede SVB and Archer spots, throw in guaranteed Buzz generator Earl it leaves only two spots for the Rodney, Hatch & Corey trio. Somebody had to sit this out.

He gets alot of "likes"() when ever he posts things and that's hard not to notice, even for a guy like Earl. I think he's gonna be in a great state of pool when december comes. The fan's get pretty rowdy, so do the players. It could get ugly, the way Earl chirps at the crowd.

Should be more worried about Hatch the weakest player of the 10, then Morris, the 9th best player. If it was 3 on 3 we would be the favorites.
But it is not.

Teenage girls get a lot of likes for eating at McDonalds, shopping, blurting out random nonsensical crap... It's nut/tit hugging. If you put stock in it, I have unassembled snowmen for sale you just gotta have.

The guy can play pool, no doubt about it. That does not mean every single thing he thinks or writes is gold. If I repeated the exact words I've personally heard come out of his mouth I'd get lynched. But if they come from a guy who plays pool, well ... give it a like and pat him on the back.

The question in my mind is, how much does Earl's presence cause his team mates' winning percentages to go down? I've said it before, he is the Tyrell Owens of pool. He wrecks TEAM moral and reduces his TEAM'S chances of winning the Mosconi Cup - regardless of what HIS winning percentage is.

Now that he is in, I will be rooting for him, rooting for him to play well, and rooting for him to keep his behavior under control.

When he is just playing pool, I love to watch him. Everyone agrees that he is one of the best all time pool players.

Earl Has Been a Disgrace to Pool

No Question he is one of the Greatest American Players ever.

If he does not explode the US has a chance.
I pray that he will be a Gentlemen, and show us how Pool can be really Great !!!

Everytime, I've watched him in person,and there has been many.
He has been dis-respectful to his opponents, promoters and his fans.
This is not good for Pool.

IMHO, his presence surely doesn't reduce USA's chances of winning. He's been on the USA Mosconi Cup team 13 times. For these 13 cups; USA's record is 9 wins; 3 loses; 1 tie. :thumbup:

In those days Team Europe was not on equal footing with Team USA. Now Europe's pros have caught up to if not passed the USA's pros. Any distractions for Team USA are very much more likely to have adverse consequences in Mosconi Cups from here forward.

The exact same can be said about Mika. Now, Mika doesn't get out of line in an over-the-top way like Earl. However, like Earl, Mika has been known to let his emotions get the best of him.... sighing, huffing and puffing, raking balls mid-game, etc.

This will be a great MC, for sure.
