Is gambling illegal at all venues?

Back in about '74 I got busted in a Gambling/Drug raid in Walls, MS. I never have had anything to do with drugs and as anyone in St. Louis will tell you, If I ever got arrested for Gambling, it would get thrown out for lack of evidence.
BUT the IRS took my brand new Continental, $17,000 in cash, my complete wardrobe and my Balabushka. All because I had a 38 snub nose on my belt. Thank God that I remembered a job at a local poolroom that I worked the year before and the owner filled & I paid taxes. My lawyer in MS. also found an old MS. law that said if your more than 50 miles from home and carrying over $50 - you were allowed to carry a gun.
THE IRS HAD TO GIVE BACK EVERYTHING.
But I got some good advice to at least file as a Pro Gambler for the next 5 years.

What a revealing story. Thanks. Glad you got your shit back.

There's another old law, too: The second amendment, but it isn't looked at anymore. sigh.

The drug war is really just young, poor people being punished for using some drugs by old, rich guys using prescription drugs.---Rosanne Barr

What about gambling in your house?

I know it is not likely to get caught but I was just curious.

Arizona Law on Gambling is very loose, as it is like Social Gambling. Not a big deal, the funny thing is with Gambling as the money goes up. So are the chance of Parking Lot Rips Off a Happening.

Gent I know who HUSTLED at one time always check out the pool room for AVAILABLE EXITS, if there were not a MINIMUM of TWO EXITS he never gamble at the room.

I think it's illegal in Arizona. I mean, there has to be some reason that there isn't anyone matching up! :D

(okay, okay, so there are a few, but they are definitely the minority)

Or read the article coming up in Inside Pool that covers this subject in depth.

Assuming, of course, that you're one of the lucky people who actually RECEIVE the issues of Inside Pool that they have paid for....
