Wins the UK Championship against very strong Mark Allen in the final.
Won the China Open.
beat Ronnie O'Sullivan in the earlier round.
And all at the age of 22.

Is he now considered the best?

No, but he will be. John Higgins is still the best player, his all around skills help him win even when he's playing below his best.

Judd still needs to find the perfect balance between his aggressiveness and defense, imo. If I remember correctly, that's what let him down in the final of the world championships.

Judd Trump Is The Best Potting Machine I Have Ever Seen !

Alex Higgins-Jimmy White-Stephen Hendry-Ronnie O'Sullivan and just when I thought I've seen it all along comes Judd Trump. The potting talent is just sensational,it's outrageous and it's a joy to watch on TV.

Judd's run to the World Final was fantastic but and here is the but it's his safety play and shot selection that has to improve. When this happens he will be the best.I don't think a Snooker Coach could teach him anything and it is all down to Judd to improve the shot selection safety game. When that happens he will become the best and dominate the game,IMO.

At the UK Ronnie was 5-4 up v Judd and should have won the match but Judd came through and as he said the extra tournaments beat the practice table. He can be the best, time will tell.:thumbup:

I think he's the best potter I've ever seen, but I've tempered my expectations on what he will achieve recently. I think once the hype and fear-factor diminishes, players like Selby will work out a way of playing him. Trump has many failings as a player - safety, poor positional play and shot selection to name a few - but his biggest is he doesn't score heavily enough when he's in the balls. He needs three chances to finish a frame.

Hendry in his prime would have murdered him (but that goes for everyone else who's ever held a cue).

I think the best thing Trump has going for him is lack of competition. Ronnie's a bust flush, Higgins too, probably, Robertson's hunger seems to have gone, Ding has temperament problems...suddenly the field's clear for someone to dominate snooker for a decade. I want it to be that big fat Brazilian fella!

He is the best potter there is.

Where do you leave him to stop him getting in?

He won that bogged down affair with NR.

The stats don't show he is lacking in the one visit wins.

FINAL (best of 19 frames)

Judd Trump (Eng) 10-8 Mark Allen (NI)

92-4 (70), 23-58 (56), 0-149 (141), 48-69, 86-49 (52), 62-30 (62), 75-33 (75), 73-31 (61), 109-7 (109), 78-46 (78), 82-14 (74), 0-139 (139), 0-133 (133), 76-5 (76), 0-125 (125), 35-**, 32-95 (95), 91-0 (91)

Stephen Maguire (Sco) 3-6 Judd Trump (Eng)

86-34, 16-86 (72), 22-75 (62), 13-62, 13-106 (106), 0-107 (106), 78-0 (62), 80-0 (80), 0-120 (120)

Shot selection is only a factor if you take on shots you cannot make :p

Judd Trump is currently sitting at 123 centuries in professional competition. He hit the 100 milestone in his 6th season, which has been bettered only by Ding and Ronnie.

Comparatively, other young hopefuls Ricky Walden and Jamie Cope have just passed 100 centuries and it took them 13 and 11 seasons respectively. Mark Allen is at 120 centuries and he needed 10 seasons to get there.

I think there is some use to looking at these numbers when comparing players, but it's also important to consider factors like changing conditions, becoming more conducive to scoring in recent years, and the number of tournaments that are on now compared to a few years ago. Not to take any issue with any comparison you've made, just a general thought having heard commentators recently talking about Selby making a record number of centuries in a season. Given that there are so many PTC events and overseas tournaments now, I don't put too much stock in those numbers.

I was thinking about the PTC's too, the only reason I still mentioned it is that Judd got the majority of his tonnes before the PTC's where instituted. I think Ding and Ronnie's record of 100 centuries in 5 seasons will likely be smashed at some point due to the extra opportunities. Furthermore the 100 club will continue to become far less exclusive.

Probably the most interesting thing I've noticed when doing these comparisons is players such as Walden, Cope and Allen have around on the circuit way longer than I realized. I only ever heard of Mark Allen a few years ago. I still think he's a future world champ.

The other thing to take note about Selby's record, conditions are far more conducive to big breaks not only due to the equipment and number of tournaments but players have become so aggressive, they're creating a lot more opportunities with their style of play and also leaving more too. It would have been a lot tougher Hendry and especially Davis to accomplish what they did as their competition played a far cagier game than is the norm now.

But my overall point was primarily to refute the concept that Judd doesn't score heavily. He scores very well, he just needs to find some balance in his game, which I can see him trying to do.
