My new break shaft is really heavy. I prefer a light break cue to gain speed so instead of replacing the steel bolt with aluminum I removed the bolt completely. The weight and balance seem perfect now but is the cue more fragile now? It’s a Mezz. The bolt was pretty long, around 5”.
Is playing boltless a bad idea?

The only time a weight bolt is really a must, is if it's holding the butt cap on.
