i saw today that it's likely that dechaine and hatch could both be on the upcoming mosconi cup team. at first i was thinking how interesting it would be to see them try to get along as teammates in an event like the mosconi cup, given their head-butting during their TAR match. then it got me thinking, how interested would people be in regular sporting events (NFL, NBA, etc.) if there wasn't a cheering and enthusiastic live audience propelling it? i know that pool requires an acute level of focus that could be hindered by loud or eccentric fans, but in my opinion, the mosconi cup has been one of the more enjoyable events to watch and i have to attribute at least some of it the enthusiasm of the live audience. any thoughts?

I want to see them play scotch doubles :grin-square: As for the audience, they do add a lot of energy to the Mosconi Cup. There's no doubt that the enthusiastic fans make it more enjoyable to watch. We need those kind of fans more than once a year.

The dichotomy of pool and energetic crowds make such a pairing mutually exclusive. But I want to know where the dude in your avatar got his pool cue

enthusiastic audience

like world cup soccer, can you imagine 80,000 people in an outdoor stadium, half of them dressed like earl and the other half like efren, (for example), partying and dancing, chanting and throwing smoke bombs?
