I have an extra 12.9 revo shaft since I recently changed to the 12.4. Silly question maybe but What is the difference in the revo break shaft to playing shaft if any 🤷‍♂️. I’m thinking about just using that on my bk3

I remember a lot of friends shooting with the rush with a regular tip when it was the cheapest cue to get with the revo

Follow up question - What is the difference in play between a Revo with a WVP compared to a BVP?

no difference that i can tell (i have both)
the white vault plate helps some with depth perception regarding distance to cue ball

I also have both. I can’t see a vault plate while shooting🤣 or don’t notice it.

There was a local A player who had 2 of the Revo's when they came out. I "think" they were the 12.4's, but might have been the 12.9's. He had a HARD break. He was using one of his Revo's dedicated for breaking, and another for a playing cue. The break one developed a bulge in the stroke region of the shaft. He got a replacement, and it eventually did the same. I recall Predator eventually told him to not use that shaft for breaking, and either use the 12.9 (if I remember right that he was using the 12.4), or use their dedicated break shaft. This was about 5 years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy (and they weren't my shafts to begin with). Anyway, the point is, maybe their dedicated break shaft has some extra strength in it compared to their two playing shafts.

well I played today and I love it lol using the 12.9 it has a kamui medium that someone else installed on it. I wasn’t breaking out of shoes but getting more action and keeping better control on the break playing 10 ball. I think I’ll leave it just the way it is for now.

I definitely prefer the 12.4 on my player but the 12.9 is perfect for breaking.

It's funny I bought 2 12.9's at 30", and ended up hating them. (coming from 20 years of 314's). Then I got the 12.4 and loved it. My BK1 break shaft just had the tip fly off, so I'm thinking of putting the 12.9 on it.

Oh, and now that I've played with the 12.4's for a year, I still have a 12.9 in my car for spur of the moment events, and I like it now. Go figure.

Did you end up trying the 30" 12.9 for breaking? I prefer 30" shafts and was considering that as an option.

Wish they'd just do a 30" BK...

You can break with a 12.9rev but they don't recommend it. A buddy had one that had the ferrule/vault thing fracture by breaking with it.
