can anyone of our AZ cue builders show us a video how these are turned? i'm very curious about the process and how they create and retain the sharp points.

*btw, i borrowed the photos from these threads:

the point stock and veneers make a 90 into the forearm. As the forearm nears finish size, the apex of the 90 is revealed....making the point sharp.

Youtube has some videos I believe. But there are videos by Hightower and Barringer that show exactly how to make points with veneer work in detail.

thanks for the replies guys.

@tlayne, i'm subscribed to dzcues and have been asking for that video about a year ago already.

@tony, i've been looking all over youtube for this specific process and i cant seem to find any.

@randy, do you have a video/video link that shows this process?

Once the points are glued in, the excess is trimmed off gradually with a router. It is the same process as when a shaft is tapered and there are a number of those videos out there.Seeing the way the point groove is cut may make it all come together. I don't know of any videos that help, but perhaps this series of pictures on my website will help. http://cueveneer.com/short-spliced-forearms
