Is there a way to date Justis Cases?

Picked one up and it feels like a very early one because it lacks a lot of the polish and elaborate detailing of my later cases made near the end of his production.

This one looks like it had to be made in the first couple of years he sold them.

How do you date a Justis case, what do you look for, signs or tells?

I'll post some pics once the leather conditioner soaks in.

Well this just got awkward, asked the case and it seems they identify as They/Them....

Are there no specific build details that indicate early vs late?

And I'll add photos tomorrow after them soak up all the leather conditioner I lathered on they.

Jack switched from individual tubes to the lighter case in the early 2000. I’ll edit this when I get to a computer, but I wrote his article for InsidePOOL right when he was experimenting with the single pvc tube extrusion with cloth separators, and he launched about a month later.

We can make educated guess with a photo. Plus, his widow is still with us, and several of us are in contact with her
