Is there a weight between the 8 & 9

A game I seldom see anymore is the 8 safe. That means if he makes the eight at any time he cant lose, but he must still make the 9 in order to win. If you make the 9 you break even. As in the 8 and 9, you must make both balls in order to win.

That is true for sure about the last 2 (3, whatever). I have been playing a guy in my room fun sets (for coffee or a $10 or something silly) giving 3 to 7 in 9-ball but still winning the large majority of the sets in the past few months. I am going to try to even it out more for him with the last 2 and maybe a game or 2 on the wire as well. He seems to lose quite a bit on poor shape on the 8 or 9, the last 2 should help that out and make the games more even.
