is there an 8x5 Gandy?

seller is about an hour away from me and asking $500.
when i called, they said it was an 8x5. i thought it's a 9 footer from the pictures.
any inputs on size and price would be appreciated.

it could be an 8 ft, ask him to measure from one sight(diamond) on the rail to the next, s\b 12.5 inches for 9 ft or side to side 50 inches on the inside tips of the cushions

wow! 50 bucks (that's awesome). i live on an island (oahu) and pool table are not easy to come by. i just had the "go ahead signal" to buy one and my excitement is killing me. i'll just wait a little longer then. thanks for the advice.

How about a GC III for $2400, is that a good price?

no that's not a good price for a GCIII. i got my table because the home was being foreclosed. it was either fifty bucks of zilch. for another fifty i bought a really nice FIRM bed which i needed because i donated my bed when i moved to florida..... the economy is bad everywhere and that means you can score great deals if you are bold. first you must realize that a guy who's selling his table is either going through a divorce or being foreclosed. HE MUST SELL BECAUSE HE CAN'T TAKE THAT BEHEMOTH WITH HIM. in his eyes, it's a liability..... don't buy anything that you can't easily flip for a profit.

thanks again for the advice. i've waited this long, i can wait a little longer.
 
BTW: i'm NOT a mechanic, just a guy who's addicted to pool and has owned and set up many tables.

if you wait, eventually what you want will come to you either free or very cheap. before i left texAss, i found an antique brunswick table FOR FREE. i didn't have time to go get it and resell before i moved and i couldn't keep it. someone had kicked it out of their house and it was sitting on a beach. lol.... diviorce revenge?

if you want that gandy, offer him no more than $100.00. if you wait however you will find a nicer table, maybe even for free....
