Is this ever happened to you?

Well I was in the weekly league yesterday night and happened to me a strange thing that did never happen before..

I played a match and did all great perfect stance good cueball control and won 9-2..

After a 30 minutes wait played another match and did the worst things.. When I was going down for the shot I felt unstable on my stance and my cueball was either too long or too shor on most of the shots...

P.S. Notice that this was not caused by my opponent because I played him million times and this thing never happened ...

Lots of things can cause this......

1. loss of focus, due to whatever you did inbetween matches...

2. muscles can tighten from sitting, this is one reason i like to keep moving inbetween matches

there are more, but these are the 2 that have happened to me many times

sometimes I feel like I only have a certain amount of mental focus in my gas tank, and I can burn it all up. I think focus and effort at the pool table = a muscle that can be tired out like any other.

I've had similar issues on my own league nights. The last time I played, I broke and ran out, racked and ran out, then on the third game I made nothing on the break, nothing my first time at the table, nothing my second time at the table, I was just ... done.

But be fair to yourself, sometimes it's possible to just have a tough situation two or three times in a row, and you simply won't have an easily makeable shot or the chance to get the right leave on a problem ball. Sometimes you can play correctly and well and the other guy just played better. I didn't get mad about my third game because both times at the table I was faced with shots only a mother could love, and so I entered my fourth game with an ok mindset and won. When you miss, all you can do is ask yourself honestly "did I do something wrong, was this lack of effort? Did I get lazy on the leave before that shot? Or did I just miss a missable ball?" Find the answer to that question and just try to keep your attitude correct when you enter the next game, whether it's "I'm shooting fine, and it's just a fluke that I didn't win last time" or "I need to focus harder"
