Is this Joss butt under-priced at $84?

What is your opinion of this Joss for Brunswick butt?

Is it worth more than the $84 selling price? It looks like it may be worth more than that because it is so old.

Pictures are only of a butt. Seller describes it as 17 ounce, 30" pool cue. The length is that of a butt only but the 17-ounce weight is more like that of a butt and shaft that makes a pool cue.

See it at that snakepit called Facebook Marketplace at https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/327054926835108

It seems like shafts weigh just under 4 ounces, so a 17 ounce butt would be a 21 ounce cue. A little on the heavy side, but not that unusual. Looks nice.

if your interested and have a 5/16 14 shaft to fit its a steal and a nice cue.
i would buy it in a minute but dont do facebook. and wont give cc to an unknown. so im out.

Its $80 plus $4 shipping. The seller describes it, too, as used and in another part of post, as new. Just some formatting goof, I imagine.
$4 shipping. I dunno. Sounds fishy. Nothing ships for $4. No returns. Expect junk

I tried to check his seller profile and little there. He has friends in India, MidEast and Paris.
He also has a computer for sale for $156 with shipping costing $4.
I will pass.
I heard that Paypal investigates fraud. Also, if the item is shipped, it may offer a refund if fraud. Maybe if the seller profile was more convincing, maybe that would make Paypal (not with the Friends and Family option) a possibility.
Facebook Marketplace is best for sellers you know or trust who live nearby.

NEVER buy from anyone on Facebook with no profile pic selling something. It is 100% a scam. I would not be surprised that is a Joss butt cap put into the bottom of the cue. Also when you see pics of items for sale, do a reverse image search to make sure they did not take it from somewhere else to make their ad more realistic.

Paypal don't give a rat's ass about fraud.

If the seller has a tracking number that shows the package delivered, it could be a box of tocks and they will side with the seller.

As for the cue butt, flame figured hardwood. Nuthin' fancy.

That's a Brunswick with a Joss bumper 😂

Joss is still around...someone contact him... But the cue is still taboo.

More interested in the history. Where's the shaft? Neglect? Brawl? Lol...
Mahogany stained shaft would make a nice looking cue... lol2

Would a scammer scam for $84 or would scam involve more than the delivery of the wrong or no goods?

I could not find any images of the butt using Google image search.

I Facebook messaged seller fourteen hour ago and no response. This is not uncommon in Facebook. It indicates that it is a seller you would not want to buy from or that the item has been sold.

Generally, AzBilliards’ estimators are conservative, skeptical, and, here? Probably correct. Still, is there a volunteer to buy this butt, risk $84 and ID theft, and ask seller to use PayPal (not the Family and Friends type and taking Jimmyco’s advice that PayPal may not protect you)?

I had a cue like that years ago that I bought from a league player. Dont remember if it had a Joss bumper Bought it cause I wanted an extra 5/16x14 shaft

only use pay pal never f&f and a credit card this way you are double protected if you get screwed.

but dont buy until you have talked on the phone and googled his number so that it matches his name. and also google earth his address so you see where he lives and what is likely there.

if you use f&f at pay pal you are cheating pay pal. and then you have no right to complain if you get cheated. as one thief buying from another.
