Is this my only reasonable option?

I'm stumped as to how to add a little weight to a spare shaft I just got. As some may remember, awhile back I got another wrap less cue, a Jacoby that I really liked but the balance, weighted how I liked, was a little too biased to the rear. While I could have lived with it and just got used to it, I really didn't want to as I also had a Schon that I really liked and with the weight the same it was balanced an inch more forward.
Anyway, I took that Jacoby wood Ultra shaft on the new Jacoby and added a piece of 5/16"x14 pin about .3 oz to it and subtracted apx .3 oz from the weight bolt to move the balance more inline as to how I liked and to more closely match my Schon. Worked great, and the two cues are similar enough now, both weighted the same and with a balance point of only 3/8" difference.
As I needed a spare shaft for the Jacoby, I recently purchased a Rhino carbon shaft for it that matches a Rhino carbon shaft I had as a spare shaft for my Schons. On the shaft for my Schon the Rhino weighs 4.1 oz and with the radial version I just received it weighs 3.8 oz. I thought no problem I would just add some weight similar to how I did to Jacoby's Ultra shaft. I figured if their plug wasn't deep enough to drill deeper to add some weight, I could drill out the threads, and add a deeper plug and accomplish it that way. I was wrong. When trying to drill past the existing threads to allow me to add some weight, it went through after drilling about a 1/4", then to top it off I felt the drill bit hit what felt like a steel plug right after, so no use in drilling out the threads for a new longer plug.
Only a couple options I can think of,
- New Predator shaft custom weighted, much too expensive for my end goal as a spare shaft
- Brass insert for the radial butt to screw into, not sure if they make this though
- Little spacer weight to go between shaft and butt. I tried two washers to test, and it worked out pretty good but looked terrible. I also have ordered two different sizes, 8g and 13g of machined weights and if they fit will work, or if not sized right, I guess I could have one made. I need about .4 oz or close to that.
- Changing the weight bolt is a no go as that would affect the other shaft.
So the only other reasonable way I can think of is a brass insert for the shaft, but I have never seen one. Is there such a thing?
