Is This Worth Anything?

I have this really beat up McDermott Super Mac case that I ran across while cleaning out closet yesterday, and am wondering if it is worth putting up in the for sale forum. For many years this was my main case, then it became my bar league case, and for the past 5 years or so it has just been sitting in the closet gathering dust. It's structurally sound, but needs virtually everything cosmetically. Also, the two catch hooks are both bent so the latch may need to be replaced if the hooks cannot be straightened. The liner is good, but needs to be reglued around the open end. I can't say exactly how old it is, but I bought it used in the late 1980s. It has an inside length of 31" so it should hold up to a 60 or 61" cue.

What do you guys think? And if you think it still has some value, how much should I ask for it?

Put it on ebay, someone will pay for the mojo... seen it happen 3x in a week so far

Yeah, I was thinking of doing that. Or else maybe getting in touch with John Barton at JB Cases and seeing if he could make me a secure 1x1 insert for it. At that point I might be willing to make the investment in recovering with new leather, fixing or replacing the latch and refinishing the end caps. Or maybe leave the exterior alone and let it display its "character."

Super Macs are awesome. Love mine. Wouldn't mind having a second one.

JB Ultrapad interior would be a huge upgrade for that case. I have an old Schön 1x2 with an Ultrapad insert and have considered doing the same for my Super Mac.

They are not worth that much unless you do all the work to bring it back to new condition life.
It still would only bring 200 - 250 in mint condition.

Yeah, I'd probably have as much or more in the restoration as it would be worth, but at that point I would not be thinking of selling it. Rather, it would become my main case again.
