Is Wu Trying to Qualify?

I was just wondering if Wu plans on playing in any of the Reno qualifiers. I'm too busy (ok, lazy) to check through the IPT site. Anyone know if he'll try and play in any of the qualifiers?

I don't personally know but would have thought that if he had been intending to try and qualify he would surely have gone to the Shanghai qualifier for Reno held last weekend, there were only 5 entrants and a Taiwan player won it:)

Don't see any Taiwanese players nor is there Wu ?

Is that a trick question or is something being lost in translation?

Yes,that's the qualifying tournament I meant but I don't understand why you have said there are not any Taiwan players there:confused:

It isn't rocket science mate, there's only 5 names to check:) The two qualifiers were Chu Hong Ming who the Chinese tournament organisers have clearly stated is from Taiwan and Kazua Furuta who is Japanese but has lived in Taiwan for a long time and still lives in Taiwan.

Of course Wu wasn't there, that was the point I was trying to make....i.e. there were some players who travelled from Taiwan to try and qualify but Wu didn't enter this qualifier, thereby hopefully I was at least attempting to partly answer the first posters question about whether Wu was trying to qualify or not:rolleyes:

Wu might be intending to try and qualify elsewhere I wouldn't know, but would have thought that the Shanghai event would have been the most convenient for him if he was trying to qualify that's all.Phew, hard work this:D

Because all the entrants had China flags and not Taiwanese flags perhaps? Not sure if that just another error with the flags with the IPT sites but the point i was making all the names there clearly state what country they are from and before anyone starts China is not the same as Taiwan. That like saying Americans are the same as Canadians. I know the paragraph below mentions he from Taiwan but again it not that obvious not knowing anything about the players.

FYI this is the Taiwanese flag

If you just wanted to make a political point or just wanted to sarcastically criticise the IPT or The Shanghai Tournament organisers for not putting the correct flag against Hu Chong Ming you should have just said so instead of giving the impression you were trying to contribute to answering the point brought up by the first poster and wasting our time trying to help you when no help was needed.

You live in Scotland and must therefore be well experienced to occasional inaccurate and inappropriate uses of The Saltire, the Cross of St George and The Union Flag so you must know that's it's not confined to just Taiwan:)

I know what the Taiwan flag and the Chinese flag looks like,I've visited and played pool in both places, including the Shanghai club in which that tournament was held.

Well before you going on a rant on wasting "our" time then you probably in the completely wrong place because it a forum. Forums tend to be place were a lot of time is wasted. The point you obviously have missed is that i was confused on what you were referring to as i knew "nothing" about the players but wasn't sure if they were chinese or taiwanese.

Political or not you still want to get the correct country and not just the nearest flag to suit. FYI i am chinese despite coming from Scotland and you may have gathered it quite important to make sure the difference is made and not label players from Taiwan to be the same as China.

England is part of Britian which happens to have the St George's flag within the Unon Jack. Therefore it is one nation. Briitian or being British. Taiwan and China is 2 seperate nations which has no ties at all other than through history.

As for the sarcastic comments.

I believe you were the one that said

"It isn't rocket science mate, there's only 5 names to check:) " & "Is that a trick question or is something being lost in translation?"
