Is your stroke important.

all i know is my stroke ain't that good cause after hitting the cueball my cue goes to the left but i am purdy shure i hit the exact spot on the cueball that i intended too though so its all gooder.

I'm not much on the metaphysical explanation. I like what Bob Henning said, that you don't lose confindence and then your stroke breaks down. Your stroke breaks down first, because it ain't grooved enough to withstand competitive pressure, and then you lose confidence.

I think likewise with concentration. The reason why we lose concentration is because our pre-shot routine isn't grooved enough and we do too much using our conscious mind. Then our mental energy levels flag, and,,,

BTW, I'm speaking for myself, of course.:D

Yeah. With proper alignment, grip, and rythm, it does seem a good stroke is almost a given. It's as if the stroke is the culmination of sound fundamentals.
