I've owned mine for three weeks, and zero complaints thus far. Mine is a montrachet, 8 ft. with a bunch of options and accu-guard cloth (mahogany in color). It plays flawlessly. If I miss a shot I have no one to blame but me....I would say from my experience, that you could buy an Olhausen with confidence. Would do it again.

One of the best companies I have bought from in 45 yrs. of purchasing products period. Too long of a story to tell but they are upright people and if you had a problem give them a call. One other example is after a recent move I needed the specially designed corner hardware since mine were lost. I spoke directly to one of the family, not sure which one. He sent the hardware to me overnight and charges NOTHING. Not freight, not the cost of the product, NOTHING. They will always get high marks from me. I have the 41/2 x 9 Louis the XIV.

Yes. I got one about a year ago and sent it back after they couldn't level on the second visit to my house. They didn't set the slate pieces level. The table was crowned and then they tried fixing it by shimming all around under the feet as if that would fix a crowned table. It also had pocket rattle due to their unusual pocket cuts and probably because the cloth was pulled too tightly and misshaped them. They also forgot to tighten all of the bolts on the rails.

I wanted a commercial table any way so it worked out after a lot of negotiating with the dealer (after Olhausen HQ told me that it's not their problem at three different phone calls where I told them that my table wasn't playing right). The dealer assured me that this piece, despite being a furniture piece (I forget the model name- all of the details were in my original post when I first got the table; I was asking people here if Olhausens played the same as a standard pool hall pool table like Gold Crown. Too bad that Administration here took down the thead just the other day after the flames and verbal abusers went too far). Even if it had it been installed properly by a mechanic, it was still not commercial quality. And it was more expensive than getting a restored GC beauty in my pics. Anybody can get one from a mechanic instead of an Olhausen.

Bottom line: If you want a commercial table feel then get a commercial table. It's much cheaper to buy a restored commercial table from a mechanic than it is to buy a new furniture piece, and a lot cheaper than buying a new commercial table from any manufacturer.

If you read all of the forum, you will be hard-pressed to find a table mechanic who disagrees with commercial vs furniture and an Old GC or Diamond vs Olhausen.

Hopefully the flames and trolls will stay away from this and let us share true information so people can be as informed as possible and make the best purchase decision possible for their wants and needs.

I've had my Sheraton with Accu-guard cloth and accufast cushions for almost 2 years. My table is so good I hate to play anywhere else. I don't think I wouldn't compare it to a GC. Olhausen is the best pool table made, diamond is a close csecond, brunswick 3rd. I had a problem with the setup and called the company. I also talked to the family. The next day a technician was here, tore it down to the frame and set it up right. You can't blame the company for a bad setup.

What upgrades would be good to ask for in cushions
can you specify pocket size as well, since its probably going to be a custom order

ive finally made up my mind, maybe
plan to start payments soon
will be going with the st andrews in a very dark finish of some kind with black simonis upgrade and 4 and a half inch pockets
9ft possibly 10
very curious about the 12 footer that it comes in though

Best Pool Tables

I have bought pool tables from Olhausen Game rooms & outdoors, which is one of the best pool tables manufacturing companies.
I would like to say from my experience that I didn't face any such problems with the product and the services provided by them.

A nice place to buy the world's best-built game room product.

I have been playing pool for over 55 years! I have played on tables half way around the globe. Olhausen is without a doubt, THE ABOLUTE WORST TABLE I HAVE EVER PLAYED ON! I bought a new table, and after 2 months the balls still hang in the corner pockets! I paid close to 4k for my table. You have been warned!

Good point, but how did you find a post last posted on in 2014? ;)

The "Olhausen rattle" is a well known phenomenon. As far as build quality they are as good as any furniture table and I really like the AccuFast cushions. They can be fixed, but for buying a brand new table you shouldn't have to go through all that. I have no idea why they refuse to fix their pocket geometry as it would be a dead simple fix at the factory level. It's given them a black eye for decades, to the point that most people don't consider them real tables because of the gaffy pockets. Maybe the owners are just too dumb to realize there's a problem. I find it really weird as they used to sponsor major tournaments in the past. I'm sure the pros really loved playing on the wonky things.

The sad part is that once the pockets are fixed they play very well. I miss my Olhausen but I don't have room for two tables in the basement.
