It’s time to shame chalk grinders

Not a damn care in the world. They are also chalking over the table. We have already shamed the baby powder users to extinction. It’s time for the baby powder guys to clean up after themselves.

I have made several players come back and clean the table I will be sitting at from the powder they leave all over the place.
And they came back and did it? Lol. I would laugh in your face. Not that I use baby powder - because I know how to use soap.

some say its disrespectful to put the chalk upside down. maybe it is. yet they will wear ear phones and shut you out with their music.
isn't that disrespectful to you.
or answer their phone and have a conversation during the game, surf the net or write emails. thats okay in their way of thinking.

if i am talking to someone and they answer their phone or even keep looking at it without saying "hey i got an important call give me a minute".
i just walk away.
We got a guy who turns the chalk upside down every time.....it's pretty ignorant

Anybody who worries about what another player does with their chalk needs to work on their mental game.

If it's on your home table then sure, worry about it, but at the pool hall... you don't own the place. I get it, it's messy, but worrying about what you can't change isn't the most productive use of your time.
I agree with this. I have enough work keeping my own focus and aim. Paying attention to what others are doing is more of a distraction i do not need.

I agree with you both only if you are gambling. I believe both players have a different interest in the game when there is something on the line.

If playing with a friend, or just a stranger that is worth playing when no money is involved a little more leeway and distractions are ok. within reason of course.

No jump shots. No masse shots.
Damn. I wouldnt be able to play there. I never took the time to learn jump shots well enough to be confident about them. Was always worried about damaging the table.
But masse is part of my game. Seeing a sign like that, to me would be the same as No Breaking allowing. It's just silly.

Pool is a sale item. Even polka dots on the cloth ruin the value - and/or their self esteem.
A bar I used to frequent would have the table open occasionally so I'd go there when it was slow to practice. One day the owner whom I'm supposedly on good terms with is there and I'm going through my 100MPH warmup. After about 3 racks of that, he walks over and locks the table up. All them precious pennies draining away boo hoo...
:D:LOL::ROFLMAO:

no room should allow masse or jump shots. maybe with the requirement you use a piece of table cloth under the cue ball.
and i think that should be required for hard break shots.

too many leave bad marks or holes in the cloth. why should a place let you take a chance on doing hundreds of dollars in damage. for something that doesn't need to be used in a game of amateurs.
