It All Let Go?

Installed the Tiger Onyx seen in this pic about four months ago. Yesterday, my friend and customer asked me to reinstall a new tip. I was upset that this tip popped off after only a short period of time knowing that my friend doesn’t abuse his relatively newly acquired Meucci Carbon Fiber Pro Cue and I’m pretty meticulous in my tip installations. Upon inspection, it is clear that all the internal epoxy/glue in the shaft assembly has dried up and let go! The ferrule slides off and more alarming, the maple insert slides completely out. It’s no wonder the tip let loose. He heard warning noises while playing prior to the tip popping off. Can’t see in the pic he took, but the tip has some of the red pad attached that protects the ferrule. Told him to contact Meucci with pics even though it’s out of the one-year warranty. Appears this has some significant manufacturing defects that should be made right. He spent some decent money on this setup. Agreed?

Ever see this before?

I've seen it, and repaired it.

Was there any adhesive used anywhere? I can’t tell from the picture, but there should be evidence of epoxy/adhesive somewhere.

I can’t believe that one glue relief line didn’t hold better lol

I'm sure I'll regret posting this but...
It's from a spec sheet of 5 minute epoxy.

An easy to use, 2-part resin/hardener system for quick repairs, tooling and general bonding. May be used in spot applications to hold parts in position while standard epoxy bonds cure. Bonds to wood, fiberglass, and metal. Not recommended for long-term bonds subject to high loads or moisture

No wonder those aren't as LD as others. :ROFLMAO:

They probably didn't get the tubes properly prepped for gluing that day at the Meucci factory.
