I first thought this about pool ball sets
Now I feel the same about the carom sets
I've asked in several places, all I get is I need to adjust but I guess I'm not willing to accept that just yet

Same in pool as with carom, the older, lesser material, premiere ball sets, when I play with those sets I have so much better feel and control of them, much more than the new high quality phenolic resin ball's of the super aramith make, pool or carom

Both old ball sets I play pretty wellwith
Both super aramith sets I always struggle a bit with, playing below my skill level I believe everytime

I've owned each pool ball sets when I Had a gc
I own both sets now as I'm a carom player now
I have 4 super aramith sets and the one premier set

The other day trying balkline foe the first time with that older carom set, it felt like an Old worn in pair of shoes, it just fit, i was able to hold the balls on one side, cross table gather shots came in like I knew what I was doing

Then I switch them out as they get dirty to the other newer super aramith and I'm struggling again, can't keep them close near as long

Same as playing 3c with both sets,

Same as playing 14.1 and 1pkt with the 2 different grades of pool ball

What is it!? What's my deal!?

Question is the Aramith premier ball set the same size as the newer spotted balls? I am asking because they do sell a smaller 2 and 3/8 ball set that is smaller then the 61.5mm sets. Smaller lighter balls are easier to draw cue ball.

On the other hand I always felt a difference in using the spotted carom set that most Billiard halls use versus the non spotted balls. I bought my "Super Aramith De Luxe set" , two whites and a bright red ball all 61.5mm, about two years ago.

I have been told all the 61.5mm sets weigh the same. Someone I talked to mentioned it could be the outer coating off the spotted balls that make them play tiny bit different. I could just be crazy though and it is all in my head.
