Itaewon pool league

tx, do you mean in Korea, or in Itaewon? I've found lots of good players here, but I've never played a foreigner here (except in a couple bars, those don't count just like in the States). I happened upon (what I am told) is the best dangu jang in my area.

I have been here about three months this time. I was here three years ago and the league was a lot smaller, now it has about 300 players and over 30 teams. A bunch of good players, Koreans and foreigners. The thing i really like about this place is the nice tables, 9ft and taken care of, all you have to do is order a beer and the tables are free

2000-2001
When I was there in 2000-2001, the tables were all free as long as you were drinking. There wasn't any pool league in the area that I could find. I played just about everywhere around Seoul, and Camp Casey. I even went down to Pusan and played a few times. I never really found any strong competition from anyone around there. I am glad to hear they have a league now, and have a lot of people playing. Too bad I am not over there right now. LOL Most of the Koreans that I ran into played Carom anyway. So when they got on the pocket tables all I had to do was leave them with straight in shots. LOL. I can see things are changing over there cause now there are some really good Korean players showing up over here in America, and there is the US vs. Korea tour that they did a while back. Like I said, guess I was just over there at the wrong time.
