It's Been Three Months Now

It's now been three months since I ordered my Diamond Professional table. I was told 4-6 months for delivery. I was also told there's a chance it could be a little less than that.

So, I guess it's about time I started to prepare my upstairs garage apartment for the new table. I need to get a chair, chalk, balls, rake, towels, drinks in the fridge, bulbs for the light, cue holder, template, tip shaper/scuffer, glove, ball cleaner, and perhaps some other stuff.

Anybody got any thoughts on what I left out here that I might need. I want to be ready in case it does arrive early. I am thinking about making a trip to Custom Recreation in Evansville to pick up some items. Anyway, it's not going to be a pool hall. Will probably just keep the bare necessities over there.

A sound system and a tv can be nice. Even a cheap tv is nice for having matches or instructional material on. I also like to put up a visualization video for something in the background, something to this effect:

Also a "roomba" type device so you don't have to manually vacuum the table. That's the best sub $100 pool accessory you can get.

Yes, that's a good idea. Need to get a brush for the table as well. I can use a damp towel to wipe it off too.
Once I got the roomba I've not used the brush at all, it made the brush obsolete. I do have one of the Simmonis X 1 things for spot treatments like if I notice a chalk mark on the table.

I don't know if it gets cold or anything where you live but a coat peg board by the door is nice if you need a place to hang a jacket/coat.

WOWSA!

I had dropped Aaron at Diamond an email awhile ago with a couple of questions. He said they are getting close and expect delivery the 1st or 2nd week of February!

Soon I will know if I am worth a sh~t or not..........

Nope, I've already got 4-5 of them.

Balls go in on the Gold Crown IV.

Balls spread out on the Gold Crown IV.

I just rarely ever get a runnable rack.
Are you using a magic rack or any kind of template? 1 on the spot or 9 on the spot? Breaking from inside the break box or breaking from the side? Are you hitting the 1 square or using a cut break?

Has anyone else broken on your table and succeeded in getting a "runnable" rack?

I don't think it's the table...

I think you're just unlucky 😂

I believe in one of his many threads a picture was posted and he was using a template. That makes it a lot worse, or more unbelievable.
If you can’t put together a consistent 9 ball break with a template something is wrong, and it’s not the table.
But we know this and are just playing along.

I have always been a Master chalk guy - but when I get a table in my new home I will try the newer expensive chalks that supposedly leave no residue - worth a try - my son’s Brunswick Anniversary has new green Simonis and the blue Master chalk really marks up that green cloth.

Taom is not totally residue free but is sooooo much cleaner. I have plenty of Master and Triangle but am using Taom. I want to use the inexpensive and good Chicago products but will pay for Taom after trying it.

Your largest issue will be the installer. If you think Diamond is sending RKC or similar forget it. Ask them who they intent to send and do some research. Diamond's authorized dealers/installers are anyone that will sell their product. If you do get a tournament grade set up with no V cuts in the pockets, no shadows from stretching send them my way when they are done....to make up for the make up job I had after delivery. Maybe the 3rd recovery will be right.

I was also. Until my Son bought me Taom Green.

Table stays cleaner as does your hands, balls and cue shaft. Occasionally build up on the edge of your tip or a miscue will leave a spot on the table. Don't rub the spot with your fingers, like we all have done.
Leave it until you have a chance to vacuum it. By rubbing it you will just push it in to the cloth more, if that makes sense.
Good luck trying to wear a piece out. I play fairly often and I am on my third year on the same piece.
I wish Goodyear would make tires out of this.
