Is there anyone out there that had repairs done to their It's George Case, and if so, who did your work.
I have a 3*6 case that the zippers are bad on it. I want to have the zippers replaced out, however every person or shop i talk to refuses to touch it. They state that there is a liability issue, and a limited source to replace it if they damage it.

Any suggestions?

It's George Zipper repair

I also have had a tough time finding someone to replace the zippers on my George cases. I got frustrated last year when one of my team mates went looking for something in my case and then hastily tried to close it and broke the zipper.

People in this area want $125 to resew the zipper - $5dollars an inch 5 x 22 plus $15 for the zipper!!!

I carefully removed the old one and bought a replacement zipper from a fabric store and sewed it back using the original holes that were in the leather. The first side turned out perfectly but on the second side it was not as goood because you have to have the zipper open to be able to access the back of the second side. But it only cost $10 and two or three hours of time and I was back to where I could use the case.

Now this year at nationals a female team mate of mine tried to give everyoune a candy treat in their case and overstuffed and broke the zipper that I had replaced!!!

I have removed the broken one and bought a new better version for the replacement, but I have not taken the time to sew it back in yet. I think this time after i sew the first side i will draw some registration marks on the second side so i can line them up after opening the zipper to access the second half. That way the tension on the second side will match the first side and the zipper will lay flatter..

Good luck with finding someone to help you

I have 2 george cases with broken Zippers and one instroke with 2 broken zippers on it.

Let me know if you find someone reasonable

You may be able to take it to your local shoe repairman. I have had my local guy fix 2 for me and have had him clean up 7 so far.

Thanks for the update guys.
I may, in fact, try and do it myself, but i am going to look at re-enforcing the backing of the zipper, and then stitching it up myself.
I ahve checked with local upholstry shops, specialty sewing shops, and shoe & leather repair shops. NO ONE would touch it.
I love my It's George case, and its perfect for me to use. I hate to not be able to use it.
Thanks again.

Just drove through East Berlin and saw a leather repair shop. Might be the place to go.

I didn't stop in but made me think about having some of my own cases repaired.
