Hi cuemakers, the Uniloc mini radial joint pin is now used in a new series of cues at a sweet price point.

It looks like 5-6 threads to turn in.

Is this enough to join the cue together at a high stress load spot?

If it is enough, would it not be making the longer Radial pin below (with the unthreaded area and logo) redundant?

The long nose on the end of the pin works as an alignment starter to keep you from crossthreading the joint pin.

The longer pin could also, very slightly, affect the balance. In itself it wouldn't make much difference but a little bit here and a little bit there might be the finishing touch.

It's not that new. They had a break cue with a very short joint screw. I had to make a maintenance mandrel for them.
