its not original, but is it a refinished rambow? or a "conversion" cue?

I think its a Hoppe. The seller just sent me photos of the joint. Could be I guess, but I'm leaning towards no. For $4k I'm not willing to gamble.

Too much

I see $1700 at least that was what the last price one was offered to me for with 2 origional shafts but things change every day.

I was checking out this cue on ebay, It has the wrong wrap on it,no script that i could see, a shiny not oxidized joint, a non ebony forearm, modern looking bright whitr ferrules, shiney looking finish.
It does not give me that vintage rambow feeling at all! what do You guys think?http://cgi.ebay.com/HERMAN-RAMBOW-C...4QQihZ015QQcategoryZ21212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

unlikely, but not impossible:

by '64, an ebony forearm would have been quite rare, most
Rambows were not ebony, so I don't see this as a problem,
nor the lack of script, many of Herman's cues had no id markings

no, the wrap doesn't seem to be Cortland, and the finish
seems too high gloss,
but, 1964 was a long time ago in cue years - perhaps the
cue was 'restored' at some point

the seller says one shaft was made by Hereck,
why not contact Joel for verification?
