It's only a matter of time so let's discuss

Now although it seem just shy of impossible to get some information about the Joy tables I'm sure that this year someone will post here that someone has one somewhere in the states. When this happens who do you call as the mechanic to set it up when it comes and who changes the cloth down the road?
I'm sure it's not coming assembled in a trailer filler with memory foam and the thing is as heavy as your ex-wife, so who do you guys think is going to be called or how do you think that process is going to go down, let's start with just getting it inside.

Tables get shipped all the time, so I assume that a Joy would arrive in the shipping box.

Big question is:
How do you handle the box when it arrives?

You probably need a forklift to get it out of the delivery truck, and need a protected place to store it before your mechanic unpacks it and starts assembling.

Aside from the weight of the slate (how many pieces?) and the massive pieces needed to support it, one assumes that it is basically a shrunken snooker table.

"The influence of snooker upon the conception of the equipment is self-evident, with the characteristics of the table including tight pockets cut to snooker-like dimensions, cushions which react more like those on a snooker table than a pool table, and reasonably quick cloths."

The major Chinese table manufacturers - Joy, Star, Shender - must have a great home market because it is very difficult to find anything in English on the web.

The Corner Bank in Toronto has 8 Shender snooker tables. Don't know of any Star or Joy tables in my neighbourhood. :D
