Ivory question

I am turning a 1904 Apollo player piano into a wine center as a Christmas present for my brother. During the disassembly I noticed that most of the keys have ivory on them. My hope is that it would be of use to someone on here, or if anyone thinks they would be too thin. Any input would be great.
