Got a question.

What's the deal when dealing with custom cues that contain a substantial amount of Ivory? I heard there are restrictions on ivory but isn't there legitimate/legal source's for ivory? What are the restrictions? I know fleabay will stop your auction if you mention ivory...what's the deal?

You cannot, as I last heard, import or export ivory into or out of the United States. Most countries use CITES to regulate how much pre-ban ivory they will allow to move across their borders.

I do know Canada will allow the import of ivory under strict guidelines including proof of the age of the ivory and permission from the country of export.

If your "item" is caught it is confiscated and then a determination is made as to whether or not the ivory can be removed without the need for an "expert". If it is not possible to remove the ivory a decision is made whether to return the item to the sender or it is destroyed by the relevant customs agency.
