Don, I think you mean sleeving with phenolic.
I would bet Blud has ivory joints capped and threaded with no sleeves.
I'm guessing he sleeves the butt plate b/c it makes it more durable and does not affect the hit anyway.

That's what I was asking bill, the joint also. Black Boar is sleving stainless steel for with ivory for some of his joints.
