JA calls out American players

He is just pointing out a simple fact that if the best players do not show up at the Mosconi points tournaments then those weaker players who show up at every event will be on the team and USA will get beat again. It sounds like Johnny would really like to see the USA win again.

You have to admit thats kind of funny

I am not a typist at all. While others were taking typing in H.S. I was taking physics.

I doubt that I have a single post that has not been edited.

Editing a post in NOT that same thing as making a new post to say that you did not mean what you were caught saying in another post.

Best 2 You & All.

At least this whole Mosconi thread hasn't involved Dechaine for once :p

BTW, it appears JA has pulled his Facebook post. At least I couldn't find it just now

Perhaps he gave it some thought & realized that it was "ill-advised" & retracted it like I suggested that he might.

But the bell has already been rung & he would have to do some explaining &/or apologizing to un-ring it.

Belated Merry Christmas to you, Bruce & Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy, & Safe New Year for You & Yours,
Rick

That's true the bell has rung ,, but he owes no explanation ,, you don't have to defend your patriotism ,, he's passionate and hates the stomping that we have been getting ,
I have no problem with it JA has took the leadership role before for better or worse trying to keep players United ,, I'm glad to see someone cares cause other than Mark it seems like no one else does and it's about time our players start carring more about something more than a paycheck

I did not say that OWED anyone anything. The bell has been rung & just taking the post down will not un-ring it. For something of that nature to be down it would take more is all I was saying... IF that is what he has in mind at all. He may not.

Lombardi knew what players to pat on the back & what players to kick in the butt.

Individuals are different. Some need Ra! Ra! & some don't... even though the proper fire burns in their gut.

One size does not fit all & true leaders know & understand that.

I'm not ditzing Johnny. I like him. I just think he could have chosen his words better.

It seems that he too might have agreed in hind sight.

Best Wishes,

Well I highly doubt he took it down because he does not stand by those beliefs but rather the flack that comes on social media
I don't remember Lombardi being known to coddle any player nor any coach of that era doing so , just was not the way they went about buisness back in that day
But JA is not a coach he's a player and there has been a gazillion players that call thier team mates out like for instance Payton Manning calling out his drunken kicker
Leaders lead that's what they do if they ruffle a few players along the way to f&$King bad
Maybe our best player will step up into a leadership role and grab the bull by the horns but I highly doubt it , until that happens I'll tip my hat to JA for atleast trying to light a fire under our players asses and showing some urgency in winning the MC

Lombardi never yelled at Bart Starr or others. That is partly what made him such a great coach. He knew how to get the best out of ALL of his players while other coaches were only getting the best from only some of their players & NOT from ALL of their players.

It looks like if Johnny shot someone in the leg to fire them up you would condone & support him for doing it.

Like I said, I like Johnny. Saying your colleagues are NOT serious players just because they are not at ONE tournament seems uncalled for.

He does not know each individual's particular circumstances. Do you think it built any team type spirit or did it pull up some FU JA?

Then if those two both make the 'team' are they going to be a true TEAM or just individuals on a 'team'?

Best Wishes.

Well we can agree to disagree agree , Iv yet to see anything that resembles dedication to the MC team nor do I see any real team unity or any leadership , sorry pal I played sports all my life and never had a coach or a Captian worth a fly f&@k that didn't speak his mind and call out his players ,, in this case it's generic he does not even know who the players are other than the ones not at TS
What we know is this pussy ass approach had yielded zero results so obviously that's done zero good
He's not sorry nor should he be , step up or step out this is war not for the faint of heart

I played some ball too & I know what you're talking about. I'm not saying that he should or has any thing to apologize for... other them perhaps saying one is not serious because one is not at ONE tournament. Like you said it was generic and that includes everyone without knowing their personal reasons for not being there & he is NOT a captain nor even a team mate as of yet.

What if so & so is not there because their mother is in a hospital & may die. Would you or he have them leave her to die & go play pool?

You're looking at the big picture in a generic manner & not taking into account that he was speaking to & about individuals.

To that guy whose mother is dying in a hospital that JA is calling out, all JA is an a$$hole.

I doubt that he pulled it down because of flak. If he did it for the reasons you're saying he certainly should have known that flak would be forthcoming.

I THINK he hit submit without thinking it through & has now thought better.

Anyway, Yeah.... we can just disagree.

Best 2 Ya,
Rick

It's cause and affect , regardless if it's case specific it sends a message throughout the American players that someone is taken notice ,, ,we can look at it as he is only calling out a few who is playing abroad or we can look at as calling on all forces guys who were not on the team last yr sparking more players trying to get on the team , the more players fighting to get on the team will only make the team better at the end of the day
It's truley a brilliant move on his part , but hey he's JA proving again why he's second to none trying to bring unity to the cause

Like I said, I like Johnny... I just don't quite see him as the 'god' that you seem to see him.

I think you are making some assumptions that may not be accurate.

Best Wishes.

Lol, classic Az. And entire page with just 2-3 peoples comments. New year guys, someone just be the bigger man and walk away.

Hoping would probaly be more accurate but hey what's wrong with that as they say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result
This may be just what the doctor ordered , it's early in the yr stir the pot get and see what happens , maybe I'm giving him to much credit or maybe just maybe not enough
Let's hope maybe he knows what he's doing and players are competing to get on the team and consider it s honor
