Jackhammer jump break cue on ebay?

I was wondering the same thing. I looked at one of the super sellers selling jackhammers and they were selling low end cuetecs (excalibur) for about the same price. So I would equate the two cues, but couldn't saw for sure. Let me know if you go with one.
 
Looks like a J&J to me. I don't think this guy has ever called his J&J J/B cues a "J&J."

I've bought some items from this guy before. He's a good guy to deal with.
 
That cue looks like the Jump/Break manufactured by J&J cues in every manner, as far as I know it is a J&J just renamed.

I've broken with J&J J/B cues before, both pieces of the Butt has the same joint, but the lower half of the butt is longer than the top, so you can connect the top half to the shaft if you need a longer jump cue, but it wont be flush.
What I also noticed about this cue is that the joints are a poor quick release joint, they will get loose after a break or two, so you have to constantly tighten the cue. The joints also gives it a less solid hit if you're looking for a stiff breaking cue.

The item has wrong pictures with the description, there is no butterfly splice on this cue. The seller (carlscues) has been known to charge outrageous fees for shipping, and selling low quality cues by saying they are similar or 'better' to higher end products, hes comparable to a used car salesman. If you want to buy Billiards Products from someone on ebay, go to Neilsens Billiards, his prices are reasonable, and he has higher end stuff, and doesnt try to sell lower end by advertising them as similar to better than the higher end ones.
 
Waiting for it to come in the mail.....I'll let you know. I had the original Sledgehammer and sold it. Got the new one (wasn't inpressed) Let all of you guys know how it hits in a few days.

Although the picture is wrong, I will have to disagree with you. I have bought 2 J&J's (4 point Palmwoods), and the first one was from Carl. I got it on Ebay for $27 plus $15 shipping (shipping very reasonable). I had good service from him and got the cue within 5 days of the auction closing.
I checked the postage and it was $9.83 plus the box it came in. Note that he has a 99.8% rating on Ebay. It was the first and only time I have dealt with him, but I had a good experience.

As far as the lower end of the butt that can be used for a longer handle for jump shots and not being flush with the joint, NO CUE that could do that would ever be flush because the handle is naturally bigger the further towards the bumper it is, but it is a handy thing to be able to do.

A couple of times my joint was a little loose, but I just tightened it more, and it was fine. They do not hit 'soft' at all. The shaft, 14mm, with a conical taper is very stiff, and I like the 1 piece phenolic ferrule/tip. In fact, I bought an extra shaft, the original has the white phenolic ferrule and the extra has the black phenolic ferrule.

Yes, I agree he turns more lower end stuff, and does use some questionable advertising techniques.
 
So what part were you disagreeing with?

The shipping now is 21.15 for a cue, the USPS triangular tube boxes that they are shipped in can be obtained from the USPS website for free.
When I had my transaction, it was for a cue that was not greater than $30 and shipping was 17.95 plus 2.95 insurance, and insurance was not optional.

I never said it had a soft hit, I said 'less solid' cuz of the joint, it still has a solid hit, just not as solid as others. My only complaint was the joints frequently coming loose. The longer jump handle was a benefit I was pointing out.
 
I agree with Scott on dealing with Carl.

As far as insurance not being an option. When I sell things, I don't offer it as an option either, it's mandatory. I really don't see what the big deal is about that. It's a way to help CYA (Cover Your Arse).

Granted, $19.90 (for my zip) is a little high. So I agree with Geo there.
 
Looks like one I had except the one i had was stained. It broke and jumped great until the forward piece of the butt split at the joint during a break. I wasn't upset I figure you get what you paid for and I didn't pay for much.
