For those of you not going to the Viking event in Atlanta there is a $3000 added tourney at Shooters in Greensboro. Format is usually race to 7 double elimination with a single race in the finals. Entry is usually $65.00 with a $10.00 additional one time tour card fee or you may buy a tour card for the entire year for $30.00. Do not quote me on any of these specifics as this is the first event for a new season. You may contact Doug Ennis at 252-908-0754 for additional info.

The room address is 3808 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407. The room owner told me there will be a mini tourney on Friday night at 7 pm and a possibility of another mini ran on Sunday for those who are out of the tournament.

Disclaimer:D ....LOL....I do not encourage any individuals to participate in one tour over the other. I personally wish I could clone myself so I can participate in Mike Janis' Viking event in Atlanta and also play in the Jacoby event. I may have to flip a coin to make a decision or go with the distance/expenses ratio to determine which to go to. I wish all tourament directors in the area the best of luck (Shannon, Mike, Tommy K., and Doug) in the coming year and thank each of you for making my life hell in trying to make decisions as to which event to attend :) :) :)

good showing here today - some of the named players Mike Davis, BJ Ussery, Sparky Ferrell, Mike Fuller, Jeff Abernathy, etc. with plenty of strong regional players as well - looks like there should be some great matches. for anyone that is interested, we will have brackets up in a bit to help people follow their favorite players. just met up with the owners - they just took over the place - great people - stop in and say hi sometime if you are in the area.

Well,,,,,,,,,,,, since you are not here it appears you made the distance/expense ratio decision. We had 256 total entries this week at the SCO2 events. The largest of the events was the Amateur event (97 Players). It is Ironic that it was also the event that costs less to the room owners. You know what that means for the future of the Viking Tour right ? Eddie, whichever event you choose this weekend I wish you good luck. I also hope they add the same quarter million to open events here in the south in the coming years because the chances are that I wont do it again. I will most likely give it to the amateurs starting next season.

PS, I didn't mean to Hi-jack the thread. Shooters is an excellent players room and they always have great tournaments. Please tell Trevor and Eric I said Hey.

Now I will have an excuse for why I suck. "I dont want to improve so I can keep participating in Mike Janis' tour!"

:D

You better have tournaments next year around here, Mike! :)

Cubc, no need to worry yet. We are completely booked and even double booked on every weekend with $1,500 added open events along with the $500 added Amateur events through March of next year.

Now, back to the event at Shooters......please

let me save you Mike ;o) - the finals are down to Sparky Ferrell and Mike Davis - the race is modified to nine - Sparky won the hot seat. currently 2-2, Davis just tied it up.

RACK 5 - davis 3-2 - both had issues with the two ball - davis ran down to the six and played safe - ferrell was able to hit it, but left an open 6 ball for davis to finish off.

Rack 7 went to Davis (4-3, Davis)
Rack 8 Davis played a tough shot on the 4 ball and missed leaving the table fairly open with the exception of the 8 ball which would be a tougher shot to get on from where the 7 ball sits - it appeared to not be an issue for Ferrell - score tied again 4-4.

RACK 9 - Ferrell breaks making one ball and runs out the rack 5-4, Ferrell
RACK 10 - Davis jumped and made the two ball and ran down to the 8 ball, but left it long causing Ferrell to make an unforced error and Davis to play a safe - Ferrell attempted the same and left a tough shot on the 8, but Davis made the 8 and scratched 6-4.
RACK 11 - Ferrell takes this rack 7-4.
RACK 12 - Ferrell wins 8-4.
RACK 13 - Davis is up to the table, allows Ferrell back up on the 4, then misses on the 5. Davis back to the table, has a tough 5 ball shot - sitting on the back rail slightly behind the 7 with the 5 center table - attempted a cut and missed. Ferrell in about the same position, this time cleared from the 7 a bit more - Ferrell had the same outcome. Davis back up but desides to take a break - runs out the rack - score 8-5.

RACK 14- Davis breaks leaves the one on the back rail, but plays a strong safe. Ferrell misses the one - Davis back to the table. score is now 8-6, Mike "the grinder" Davis is back.
RACK 15 Davis misses a straight 6 to pass the table back to Ferrell - he misses a straight (long) 7 ball and returns the table to Davis - Davis plays safe and hooks Ferrell behind the nine ball. although hit, it did not go in - Davis makes a great table length 7 ball and rattles the 8, since it is in the pocket, Davis concedes - final 9-6.
