I had a radial pin simple jacoby with 12,75mm shafts and sniper tips. Hit was stiff and solid with deflection being in the high scale. Very nice shaftwood and overall good product for the price.

I have a steel jointed Jacoby and it hits a bit softer than my Schon

My friend has an ivory jointed Jacoby and it hits even softer.

Love my Jacoby

My Jacoby has a 3/8 X10 pin and black phenolic joint. It hits superbly. Plenty of feel, but still fairly soft hitting. I added Mike Gulyassy's shaft freeze which changed the sound the cue makes but not its great play. Yes it will deflect more than the LD laminated products out there, but I play better that way. I aim as I always have and the cue hits the mark. Loads of spin, plenty of control. I own most of the big cuemaker's products, but play with my Jacoby more than any other.

I have owned and played with 2 different Jacobys, both with the steel joint - 5/16 x 14 pin, piloted, and I can agree with the other posters about the softer feel of the hit. I would describe it as a little firmer than most true wood/wood type of joints but definitely a lot softer than a typical schon steel jointed cue hit would feel. As far as fit/finish/construction of the Jacobys ......... TOP NOTCH. I'd recommend one in a second.

The reason I don't play with a Jacoby now is after test hitting a variety of different cues I decided I liked the hit/feel firmer/crisper, but not so firm and "tingy" (as I would describe it) as a schon and ended up with my current Carolina Cues which IMO have a hit extremely similiar to my buddy's Scruggs cues and he agrees with that assesment as well after we did all of our test hitting with a BUNCH of various cues that we had between the two of us plus a few cues some of my friends own that I have test hit with.

The cues I/we test hit included - Schons, Richard Blacks, Scruggs, Jacobys, Carolina Custom, Pechauer, McDermotts, Lucasi, Diveney.

I have owned or played with at least 75 Jacoby cues. The steel jointed cues for the most part (their are exceptions) hit quite a bit stiffer than the Ivory or Phenolic collars. I currently play with one that utilizes the radial pin that I like so much that my Richard Black hardly ever gets used.

i just had one made and had a moori tip put on and it hits like a dream never have another cue.

I have 2 jacobys ss joint and coco radial joint radial is a soft hit and the ss is a lil bit hard great cues though you will have to see what one fits you!!!

I bought an ivory jointed ebony and ivory Jacoby a few years ago. That thing played great. I have tried several Jacoby's, and for the money it is really hard to go wrong.
