Jacoby Custom Cue Progress

So back in June I decided I was to that point that I wanted to have a custom cue by Jacoby. Over the past couple of months they have been sending me progress pics and I figured it was to the point that I would share with everyone.

I could use a little input. The original plan on these cues was to have a black textured leather wrap put on both the shooting cue and the break cue. However now that I see the woods together I am not sure if that would look best or if I should go with a brown leather wrap. When it is close to completion they are supposed to send me some pictures with both to decide between, but thought I would ask all of you for your input as well.

Anyways here are some progress pictures of the cues. The break cue will just be ebony on the forearm, and the jump cue is supposed to be black when it is completed.

Here are the specs:
Shooting cue
Forearm - York Gum Burl
Points - 5 points - Outline is tiger wood with ebony and malachite (green) center.
Rings - ebony with 5 malachite diamonds (ring at the top is just solid malachite)
Butt sleeve - lattice design in tiger wood with york gum burl and ebony

Break cue:
Forearm - Solid ebony. No points.
Butt sleeve - same as shooing cue.
Rings - same as shooting cue

Jump cue:
Jump cue will be black with the same ring pattern and lattice pattern as the other two cues on the extension of the jump cue.

Comments are welcome, and thanks in advance for the input on the wrap!

I will post more pictures when I get them, but I suspect the next group will not be until it is close to completion when I have to pick a wrap. They are hoping to have it completed at the beginning to middle of December.

Thanks!!

Does anyone have any recommendations for the grip? I know I want it to be a leather grip but not sure what to do beyond that.

Originally I was thinking a textured black leather, but now I am not so sure. I was also thinking that a dark brown, or even a reddish brown leather grip would look nice.

Also I am not sure what the different types of textured leather is out there for grips.

I know a lot of you have done custom cues, and have more experience with the different types of leather grips. Just looking for ideas.

Also after getting the last progress pictures I decided to put points on the break cue. They will be the same points as the ones already on the shooting cue, but I am inverting the York Gum Burl wood with the Ebony.

Thanks in advance!!!

wraps...

I like the way your cues are coming together. Since everything is going to be inversed in the forearm, it would only make sense to do the same with the wrap. I would do black on the shooter, and peanut (to match the lace gum burl) on the breaker.

Awesome lattice work! Really unique and defining characterstic of the set!

Thanks for the input. That would look pretty good. I'll have to ask them to send me some samples.

What if I went with a stacked leather of light brown and black (together on both cues). Do you guys/gals think that would be too loud with the lattice on the butt of the cue?

I wouldn't do stacked leather if i were you, way too busy. keep it simple! love the lattice work btw
