Jacoby Edge Hybrid vs. OB Classic

never hit with a Jacoby Edge Hybrid before, but I love my classic shaft, great feedback and low cue ball deflections.
 
I liked the Edge better.
I use a 30" shaft and the classic felt rubbery?? if that makes sense.

The Edge just felt more like a natural shaft to me.
Unless you have a heavy butt you might not even notice this, but I did.
 
Edge is much better in my opinion, they both stiff but Jacoby has better feel, feed back and waaaaaaay lower deflection. OB classic felt like it is not a Low deflection shaft, just really stiff laminated but non LD shaft.

Hmm...haven't heard the classic described as rubbery before. Are you sure you are not talking about the OB1?

No doubt, I am 100% positive - RUBBERY feel.
So much that I had to send it back.
The funny thing is that when I tried a buddies I never felt that issue.
He however did have a 29" shaft vs mine as a 30" shaft.
I also know my butt is heavier at about 16+ oz.
I am sure that all plays into how it feels.

I didn`t care for the hybrid edge shaft. I have not tried the OB classic, but i have tested the OB2 and i like that shaft better.
But i actually think the Lucasi hybrid zero flex slim better than both of the above, it`s alot cheaper too.
I have given up on custom cues and now play with Mezz and the best LD shaft is Mezz Hybrid pro 2. It`s stiffer, deflects better and don`t feel mushy at all.
I have ordered the new WX900 too, exited about the performance :)
 
I prefer the OB Classic over the Jacoby but the OB1 over the classic.
Lots of people prefer the classic though.

Same here.
I have sold all my custom cues except a Richard Black cue that I've had forever.
But the hit between custom and none custom was, in my mind, all in my head.
When I looked at it objectively and compared the hits, balance etc, of each cue it just wasn't worth keeping the custom cues.
 
I have a Jacoby Hybrid(12.5mm), OB1 and 314. To me, the Jacoby comes closest to hitting with the feel of a natural shaft.
 
I play with a Jacoby edge and I love the feel and the spin I get. I have played with a predator 314, a Z2 and an OB classic. I have to give the Jacoby my vote
