I was talking to James Walden last night, as he and Caleb came into town for the weekend. We discussed a few things.

First, it was '98 when he played Cooney at DCC, and dropped 50 bags of sand, not 100, and after he had just won 250 bags of sand playing someone else. He mentioned he has played Cooney about 5 times.

About a week before Reno, he got his car stolen, and his Pool equipment
with 3 different sticks in Arkansas. One stick he had been shooting with for 16 years. He had to borrow equipment when he went to Reno. There is no leads yet on any of his stuff.

He said Jesse Bowman will not match up with him, and that Jesse can NOT
stay with Cory on the big table, but didn't know about Bar tables.

Are you sure about that? I could be wrong but I thought it was 1998 when Troy Frank won the 9-ball division at the DCC with a 7-0 whitewash over Efren Reyes.

as '98, but wasn't absolutely sure, so he is probably a year off. You know those Road Players, the years are start to look alike after awhile.

I thought it was interesting too when he mentioned there are some players on the IPT he can give the 6 ball too. He said he is definitely going to try to qualify for the tour in the future.

I would bet there are players on the IPT that he could give alot more than the 6 ball to.

It was my understanding the Walden and Cooney matched up in OK for 50. Then Jack matched up with Cliff for 100. Jack got 10/8 in both matches and then basically retired. He was seen around HT from time to time but not playing seriously. At least that was the story that was brought back with him when he got back to So. Cal. Watched him play Toby for 3 days at HT for 40. I had to leave early the 1st night and Toby was already 6 ahead and I thought that Jack was dead in the water. "Little Al" Romero said that Jack was a Warhorse and would come back and damned if he wasn't right!

One of the issues with reporting action is that it is unclear whether the amount is the total, or the amount each is putting up. So, I've been going under the assumption that if I hear two amounts, and one is half of the other, then I'll deduce that the lower is the amount each is putting up, and the higher is the total.

and on the 5th day, Cooney won 5 straight games to end the match. He also said they have played 5 times total. I have no reason not to believe him since he was there too!! James is a pretty straight shooter ...

I wonder if you both are talking about different matchups!

It could have been five days. i know the match went on for a long damn time. And I KNOW I got paid, so Jack won. There ain't no dispute about that, partner!
