I hear James White changed his taper (possibly more than once). The cue below is a 2005, and I prefer this shaft taper..
Hopefully a James White expert can chime in and give me a time line on this particular taper..

Thanks in advance,

Dale

Dale,

I am no expert in James White Cues but I owned like 3 or 4 of them. I owned a few James White's when I was collecting cues and the best hitting James White I've had was a 2005 with a solid ivory joint. I got it from my buddy Doug Balltrip (we miss you buddy).
Everything white was ivory, except for the wrap

I have a 2013 hoppe and cue plays fantastic. Word on street is his shafts have a longer tapper and yet hits rock solid. That's all i know. Also jim does not build many cues any more so there value is going up!

I played with a 2013 myself, and your correct the taper is longer imo..
Can anybody help?

Tony, I owned that JMW and I think I may have traded it to Doug. Any idea who has it now? If memory serves me there was no Ivory in the cue except the joint (all the points in that cue are Holly)
