I've been thinking about one.:D

In pondering over the past year, I am amazed at how the AzB forum has grown, with posters from around the world. I have read some fascinating threads, the most recent of which was one I initiated on "Filipino Dominance in Pool." I learned more than I had ever known about pool culture in other parts of the world. When Alex Pagulayan won the 2005 U.S. Open, the promoter Barry Behrman said it best when he announced in the ceremonies that Alex may be a Canadian and a Filipino, but he is, without a doubt, part of our American pool family. The Filipino players are a beloved bunch here in the States.

I think the most fun I had was sweating Blowfish's real-time WPC reporting on World Pool Championship sub-forum. Gabesmom and quite a few of us were glued to our computers, pulling in the home team. After they got knocked out, we quickly switched horses and picked another favorite. Sixteen-year-old Wu won our hearts, dedicating this great win to his grandmother.

Hurricane Katrina hit us hard, with many of our friends' lives affected immensely by its destruction. We're a good lot and all pitched in a little bit here and there, whatever we could, donating products and monies for this very worthy cause.

The topic of the IPT grew to a fever pitch and was met with extreme enthusiasm as well as another school of thought. I think it's the best thing that has ever happened in the history of pool. The KOTH Shootout in Orlando was emotional for some, and it was thrilling to see the Hall of Famers recognized for their lifetime achievements. Personally, I can't wait to see the IPT blossom.

The Boston debacle generated some entertaining colloquy, flaming a little bit for a day or two. Real pool, real money, and REAL players, unfortunately lacking "real" rules.

I do love reading this forum. It not only keeps me up to date on upcoming pool happenings, but I have learned so much more about the game, the sport, the people, and the international culture. We're lucky to have this forum, I tell you.

Happy Holidays to you and yours, Eydie, from me and mine [depicted below]! May the New Year be as thrilling as the last, right here on AzBilliards. :)

Lol... great picture, JAM.

Reminds me of some of the pictures my wife has taken of me and my dog. She always says, "One of you is giving the other fleas... and I'm not sure which one..."

You rock JAM~ Have missed you lately, and glad to see you back.

Call me or I'll call you soon.;)

Happy Holiday's my friend.

Hugs~Eydie
