What a great memory! :) Driving to Verona, New York, was a scenic pleasure during the day. The last leg was the longest 24 miles to the final destination, but upon arrival, the Turning Stone Casino greeted us like we were royalty. Everybody there, from the bellhops to the security were friendly and nice, with the exception of maybe a few pit bosses at the casino craps table! Keith et al. were quite vocal when they were rolling the dice, hoping to generate a little electricity, and in the end, we came home winner. Hooray for JAM and her tight pockets! :D

Exhibition Hall was a magnificant venue, and the best part is that it was FREE to all spectators. Nobody had ever quite seen anything like it, and everyone hopes that the Turning Stone Resort and Casino will invite us back.

Here's a link to a few pics I took at the event: http://hometown.aol.com/jamalloy/2005JossSeasonFinale.html

I just gotta say...Shawn Putnam has the nicest smile!

He always looks like he is having a blast.

Looks like you all had fun though, and nice to see hometown boy LJ back in action some.

Hey Jennie,

Do you remember the guys name from the casino further north?
Great guy who gave us those markers. I may just have to make a trip one day to visit that place.

I've got his business card somewhere in my suitcases. Haven't unpacked yet! :p

I'll e-mail it to you when I send you the pictures of you and Keith. I recall he had something to do with NativePoker.com, too.

His casino is brand-new and growing he said, but he most definitely likes pool. God bless Indian Sovereignty! :)

It's my pleasure. I appreciate the good comments from all AzBilliards Forum posters. I have gotten the chance to meet quite a few of them, and the AzBilliards family is growing! :)

Here's a snapshot I took of Keith posing with two young'ns who traveled to the Turning Stone Casino with their mom. They live about a half-hour from Verona, NY, out in the country, according to their mom. When the boys heard about this pool tournament, they managed to get their mom to agree to make the trek, and they were sure pleased to be able to meet and speak with the players.

I took a few pictures of Keith with some spectators and e-mailed them to them, so that they could have a keepsake. I do like my digital camera. Never leave home without it! :p

Nice pics JAM. That Joey Ryan guy is hot!

Who'd have figured that the only two pool players from D.C. would draw each other the very first round, Joey and Keith. :p

Great pictures. Austin has about 8 or 10 photos of himself and different pro's including Keith. He loved it there.

Austin got a big kick out Keith having just watched the Color of Money.

here are some photos with some of the players. Mike Webb is in there too. Do not mean to bore you with repetitive pictures of Austin.

Great pics Pete and a great lasting memory for your boy. I can't wait until mine is old enough to bring with me.

Thanks JAM and that is correct on the NativePoker.com, I just found my nice shiny chip :-)
What a cool guy, very friendly.
It seems as though the Native Americans are somewhat of a pool savior with tribe in Florida and now some in Upstate NY that are willing to host and add to events.

I find that many kids seem to like pool. All to often people have pool tables at home and never get to the billiard room. I think billiard rooms should have kid leagues and fun stuff like that. This is what bowling has that pool does not.

Anyway with your enthusiasm about pool, I'm sure your son will grow up liking it as well.

Jam, What type of camera do you us for the pictures you take. Thanks W

It is an Olympus D-380 and is now fairly outdated, a 2-megapixel.

Not a technology guru, I recently just figured out how to turn off my flash when indoors! (LOL) :p

The technology for digital cameras keeps growing at a fast pace. Now you can get 10-megapixels and optical zooms. If I were to buy a new one, I'd settle on 4-megapixels, and I think one can purchase a GREAT digital camera now with everything the layperson needs for less than 200 bucks.

Here's another shot of the venue at the Turning Stone right before the players' meeting when everybody was getting some practice in. If I knew how to turn on the panoramic function, this shot could have been more detailed. Digital cameras sure are a lot of fun!

I agree and I hope that Jack will enjoy coming to a tournament like that in the future. I don't know that I would ever bring him to certain events(too much smoke etc..) but that was perfect for kids as well.
