I dont know what pool hall but she is playing in a wpba qualifier in Waterloo Ontario today and tomorrow. If you are in the area, I wouldn't miss the chance to see this champion.

Probably Pool Paradise on Phillip St in Waterloo.

It is a shame she has to play in a qualifier inspite she once won a pro event.

I think it is only being fair to all the others who have gone before her and others yet to come.

I don't agree that a player of Jasmin's talent who's won a major pro event "BCA Open" and beat practically all of the WPBA top players in winning that event should be required to qualify to be allowed to play in a WPBA tournament. Just my .02 cents.

I think the WPBA should just have an exception to the rule-Once you get first or second, you are invited the next 7 events. This would give the fans what they want and strengthen the field as ladies like Shin Mie Liu, Kajitani, and other strong Asians would find it worth taking the shot.

Right now, the IPT is not shaping up to be that much of a drain on the WPBA but if it grows and they were to offer 15K to the highest women finisher or start giving them a game on the wire or other incentives, the WPBA would need all the top players it could get. Best to get them ASAP.

Dave, do you really think that will happen? I don't think so.

I think Jasmine should still have to Qualify and I have no doubt that she will. Karen and Kelly had to do this and they were both Snooker World Champions. It is just part of the process and the BCA is not even a WPBA event. I think Jasmine is great for the women's tour but I think the Q'ers have been a great process for players to earn their entry.
And it's not like she won't win!

I think something like that is a possibilty. The IPT to date has liked the Male Vs Female angle IMHO and may try to hang on to some. Of course the HO thing is the total unknown at this point.

Everyone has to qualify... EVERYONE! Allison & Karen had to qualify.

All Jasmin had to do was to pay her WPBA dues before last years BCA and this years enjoypool event and she would be invited to all the events as the top ranked semi-pro.

She didn't pay her WPBA dues, and even she feels that she has to qualify. She could be the best out there, but I still feel that she has to qualify. Jean would have to qualify to get on tour. Now if I held a promoters spot I think I would give it to Jasmin, but that's just me :)

Allison was invited-never had to qualify.

And i dont think Jasmin should be invited but if she qualifies and wins an event that should end the qualifying process. That would be my rule and I know no one likes it but me. So be it.

I think there's something in place along those lines already. I remember Carol(?) telling me that if you win a Q to a WPBA event and finish in the top 8 (or something like that), you automatically get invited to the next events.

We'll find out this weekend at Prime Time.

Hi Barbara,

I think that if you get a #8 raking in the WPBA you automatically become a Touring Pro, regardless if you have gotten 4 pro points and played in 80% of the events.

Not sure if that's what you were talking about though.

It's kinda of a funny rule, but it might come into play if Jasmin plays in enough wpba events in a row. I don't think she would have any problem getting 600 + points in 6 or 7 tournaments, and that would place her into the top 8.

THIS JUST IN!!!!! Jasmin dominates the field in Waterloo, defeating Naomi "the cruncher" Williams.
