JB Cases Rugged 2X5/3X4 Case

I'm not wild about leather cases, they are more for show in my opinion. I see no advantage in having leather over a synthetic material. I bought the case through Seybert's, to save on a $75 shipping cost directly from John. It was my cheapest option on something I just wanted to try out. When the case arrived, I opened the box to find the case inside a soft material drawstring cover ( nice touch ;) ).

The model I purchased holds either 2 butts and 5 shafts or 3 butts and 4 shafts. Either way, nothing touches or hits in the Ultrapad interior. Everything stays put as it should and I even flipped my case over with my cues in it, just to test out the claims. All the claims are true, Ultrapad is the way to go if you want protection.
I loaded up my cues into the case: 2 players, 1 jump, & 1 break. The lower pocket has a sleeve for a jump cue butt and easily fits both my jump butt and jump butt extension just fine. Currently, I have a box of chalk, glove, headphones, generic medication, quarters, and cue cleaner in the small top pocket. With the case and pockets loaded up, it weighs significantly less than my friends Instroke 3x5.

Here's the actual review:
I took the case out last night and headed over to a friends place, located in a strip mall. I arrived, parked, and grabbed my case. As I was getting out of the truck, I slung it over my shoulder. Somehow I must have hit the top latch on the shoulder strap clasp and it came unhooked. It swung out like a pendulum and smacked the ground. I was a little annoyed, but I checked the case and it hardly had a scratch, the lid is slightly freyed. I went inside and checked my cues. They didn't budge, touch, or smack together. I was quite happy, knowing that my cues are really protected this time.

Would I buy another rugged case? Yes
Would I venture to pay the extra cost and get a customized case? Yes

I acquired a 4 x 8 used Rugged in a trade . AWSOME case , sold it and now I'll have to order one for me , I liked it that much . jim

nice case.

I bought the 4x8 version from seyberts about a month ago. I had to turn it upside down to test what I had been hearing also and it is true. Holds the cues and does not let them go yet they come out with ease when I need them. I used code aparules and got 10% off also, I believe. Cheap price, but a great case. I will order a custom one from JB in the future.
