JB Cases

New member here. I've lurked for a while and decided to jump in and have some of the Kool-Aid. I did a search and didn't find anything on point, so I have a question that I hope is not too stupid...

I am looking at the JB Rugged Cases. JB cases seem to have a good reputation as far as protection and quality, so that is not in question. What I'm curious about is the layout of the various sizes. I am looking at the 3x4/2x5, the 3x6, and the 4x8. I know it may sound silly, but looking at pics online, it seems that the 3x4/2x5 layout gives more room between cue parts than the other two, but I really need at least a 3x5. I would go on up to the 4x8 if I had to, but would rather keep it reasonable. Any thougths on which layout would work the best for me and/or any layout that is not preferred? Thanks in advance.

I think it would be better to let some of our experienced customers answer you and I hope that they do.

All of the cases have about the same amount of padding between the parts. Our 3x6 is not much bigger than most people's 2x4 cases, especially the foam core styles. Here is a video comparison between our 3x6 sized tube and a Predator Blak case.

We can customize the 3x4 to actually hold 3x5. We can adjust the amount of padding and compartments as needed.

Here is another solution we have done to make a 3x5 in the typical 2x4 tube size:

Take a close look at the left side and you will see a sliver of fabric. This is an extra divider which can be used to allow one extra shaft to be put into the same cavity as the butt. If you had say a break cue that you were ok with the shaft being in with the but and separated by a piece of fabric then this works. When full this is still secure and does not allow excess movement.

I didn't take a picture of the sliver in use but here is the same interior used as a 3x5.

I think most of our customers who received custom interiors can tell you that we can do just about anything.

Custom interiors? Now that is some thing I need. Can you do a custom interior on a case already made. I e I send you my case you take out the inside and replace with something that will actually protect my cues?

I had to think for a while... first, JB makes a great case, quality and looks. The padding and interior are great also. I usually carry 3X4 in my "2x4" case.
I´m now going to let John make me a nice BF case also - or instead because I collect and sell cues, tips etc and I need some extra space from times. Have been thinking quite a while now how I want the setup and finally....I think I pretty much have the idea worked out - don´t know what John will thing though....

In other words, John can make the case of your dreams - just ask him and try to figure out what you want and need first - will probably spare you some delivery time - sorry John - had to say it.

We can do this generally but the shipping back and forth is going to be more than $150 and we charge about $65-85 to do the work. If you send me pictures of your case to jb@jbideas.com I can probably offer you a cheaper solution that will work. Either we send you replacement liners or you make them. I will be happy to give you my advice on it.

When I said custom interiors earlier I really meant that we do custom interiors. By that I mean we do just about any configuration that is possible inside a larger tube.

I most certainly will, although paying the shipping and the work costs isn't a big deal seeing as how this will most likely be my case for the next ten to 20 yrs lol ill get some pics of the case and interior sent to you I'm guessing by email?
