When I first saw the players list for the 2010 US Open, I was excited to see that Jean's name was on the list of invited players. Then when I saw the most recent list posted on 9/21/10, I saw that her name had been removed. I can assume that Jean had responded to the invitation to Barry in a negative way. I have not been able to find a email address for Jean in order to try and incourage her to play. If anyone knows how to email her, please let me know and if anyone feels as I do about earging her, please join in and lets see if we can get her back into compitition if only for this one event. This could be the event of the decade !

I happen to know Jean personally and seriously doubt she would return from her long retirement. Jean has other priorities in her life right now.

they had the chance to let maybe what would hav been the greatest women player of all time, hell maybe even the greatest player of all time, but we'll never know will we? Jeanny if this ever gets back to you, I'm so sorry for "them" being so scared to let u compete against the men, but i watched what u did to them in the "practice rooms" for the cheese baby. No one played harder than for the cash, in my humble opinion U are still QUEEN JEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel bad for the pool fans who never got to see Jean play. I wish she hadn't retired so early in her career because she was a powerful force to be dealt with. I'd love to see some of the present day top female players play Jean in her prime......

She left a voice mail for Barry that she couldn't make it this year as she had things going on but wished all well. It was a funny voice mail that Barry let all the fans at the event listen to via the Microphone.

Barry reminds me a lot like Mayor Mike Bloomberg of NYC. Talk about spending lots of money and reinvesting it into the city while schools are being closed and the transit system is suffering cutbacks and hospitals are being closed. Barry is a smaller scale Mike. For Barry he didn't deliver when it came to scheduling the players matches so they didn't have 18 hour days followed by 6 hours of rest and then 18 more hours of work.

Jean should not play in a tournament Barry runs.

Please give Jean my best wishes if you know her. I love history of the game. She is a icon no doubt, but, in my opinion, made the right decision back then and may still be making the right decision today. The playing at the table was legendary !!, and so was everything else. God bless her always, and bless the gals who bonded together and stayed at it to develop the now wpba.
