Hi there Jennifer,

Good to see that you are coming over to the UK soon, you will attract a lot of interest over here!!!

Safe trip over, Chris.

Where are you going in the UK? Are you going to play in a tournament or just for a vacation?

Thanks Gremlin,

Based on the large amount of emails I've been getting from the UK, there appears to be a lot of interest in American 9ball already. WPBA matches are now being broadcast on Sky Sports so that's pretty exciting, too. I'm looking forward to the trip and hopefully helping to create even more interest in 9 ball!

Is Sky Sports a UK thing or do we get it here in the US also? When you say broadcast, are they just airing the edited matches like ESPN does? Are they airing them in relatively the same time? Thanx for your help.

I'm going to do an exhibition tour of the Rileys chain of poolhalls. I think they have 7 locations around London and I'll be in a different one every night. The details are on my website under 'schedule'. (www.jenniferbarretta.com)

Great Web site Jen. Very well designed. If you would like to see the exact opposite of your your well styled site, check out mine www.christopheradams.com
working on the content but art is not my strong point :).
Like the Billiard Bling Section, very creative way to show your wins. I predict you will be adding many more WPBA blings in the near future.

Sky Sports can be looked upon as the UK's answer to ESPN. They show the a lot of the major sporting events from around the World, mostly live. They have also been showing 9-Ball for the last number of years (thanks mostly to Matchroom). Now, they have started showing the ESPN WPBA programmes - at last! Now people around the UK are starting to see that there is more to 9-Ball than Earl Strickland having a shouting match at every opportunity and people (myself included!) raving about Efren!

As for your tour, Jen, it's a pity that you can't make it up to Scotland. It would have been great if you could have made it - even only as far as Glasgow. Maybe next time?

Oh, and in case you haven't seen it, this - Riley's site - is the website for the Riley's company. Gives you details on their 160+ clubs around the UK.

Best wishes and enjoy your trip!

Thanx Cardman. I am guessing then that Sky Sports show the exact same thing ESPN does? I'm not missing out on live WPBA action because I'm in the States, right?

Sky Sports show highlights from the WPBA events, the Carolina Classic was just shown over here, the tournament that Allison Fisher won.

Jennifer, how are you going to arrange the challenge matches? I would love to get a chance to play you!

I moved the USA just before 9 Ball took off in the UK so the last time I went to a Rileys they were all Snooker clubs. Best of luck on your tour Jennifer, just a word of warning - Cider in England is not like Cider in the USA, it has actual alchohol in it!

From what I have seen of the Sky Sports/Matchroom coverage of the World Championships and Mosconi Cup shown (too) infrequently on US television they are quite a bit superior to EPSN shows in terms of production values. I cannot believe after all these years ESPN still cannot get basic audio recording right for the commentators, which always sounds like it's been recorded at the bottom of a large plastic bucket.

Landshark, I'm pretty sure they play the same exact shows that we see here on ESPN, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were airing in a better timeslot.

Cardman, I would love to go to Scotland, but my schedule is going to be pretty tight while I'm there. I'm going to have to do a separate trip for that one.

AuntyDan, Thanks for the heads up about the English Cider!
