Yes, Jerry was a hell of a player way back. I bet he can still play.
It's been at least 15 to 20 years ago when I saw him last.

In the mid 70s Brock lived in Mobile. He had a standing offer to play anyone on the bar box for big money getting just the last two. He beat them all. Until the arrival of Keith McCready. No one on earth wanted the last two on the bar box from Keith. Yes, that included Buddy, Mike or anyone you can name.

Brock not only played the bar box top notch, he busted the pay ball game on the 5X10 in Baton Rouge back then too. Every top name was there. Yes, Jerry Brock was a hell of a player.

I played him last year and he still plays very good. He is one of the top 10 players in NC regardless of age. He had John Schmidt in a mess for a while, the only reason John won the money is strictly because of his age and ability to outlast the old man. BTW he is also in the top 10 of players with the worst attitude and demeanor.

They played each other in the pool room that I play in they were playing one pocket and Brock was getting a ball 8 to 7. They started during the tournamet at about 10:00 and they quit because the pool room was going to charge them more then $3.50 an hour starting at about 3:00 am they were the only table that was taken in the pool room and Jerry was up 600 playing for 200 a game. He did not want to pay the extra money so John offered to pay his time Jerry said that he was tired and wanted to got so he quit and they decided to come back te next day early in the afternoon this time it took about 3 hoars for John to get his 600 back and that is when Jerry pulled up and quit. It was a good match to watch.
