Had the pleasure of getting to know Jerry Olivier better last week when he was in Orland Park, IL for the Pro-Tyme US Open Qualifier. What a great guy and master craftsman.

Who owns one or more and how do you like the way they play?

I own one of his cues and live close to him. Jerry has always built a very nice hitting cue. His craftsmanship is hard to beat. He's very concerned about the product he puts on the street. He wants them to be of the highest standard. I love my cue. It's ebony and Ivory with a Lizard wrap. Anywhere I take it it's one of the better looking cues in the house. You will not be disappointed if you buy one. Be sure to ask if you can get a killer tip with it. All his higher end cues come with 2 shafts.--Smitty

Hi Eydie,
I have one of his entry level cues that I bought four or five years ago. I put it thru hell, it's been dropped, kicked and I took out all kinds of stupid anger on it. I have since learned that it is not the cues fault!! Needless to say it still shoots great no loose fitting pieces, no buzzes from the joint, in fact I like it much more than some expensive custom cues I own. The hit is not as stiff as a Southwest but solid and positive. Incidentally I spoke to him on Friday about building me another cue, I just like the way his cues play.

I own a very unique Olivier Cue. It has red infused Afzelia Burl points and inlays bordered with Ivory. I love the way Jerry's cues play, they really fit my preference for hit, playability, and stiffness. I own quite a few cues and this is my main playing cue. My cue is a 1/1 Olivier. I wish Jerry made more 1/1's, but he has done very well for himself making his standard models. I always stop and talk to Jerry if he is at a tournament or show. He's a great guy.

Olivier cues

Hello, I Recently just got the olivier 02-S7-1, it has a birds eye maple butt and forearm, with a cocobola handle with 6 birds eye points in the handle with
turquios inlays in the birds eye points and also in the but and forearm, with a
ebony butt cap with silver rings. I love the way it plays, it has a nice solid hit with great balance. this is my first custom cue and I have been playing pool for the better part of 12 years. I would love to meet jerry but unfortionatly I live in toledo ohio, not one of the greatest cities in the world for attracting the best pool player's or cue makers. But my hats off to jerry for this wonderful cue,I will probally never play with anything else again.
